FRIDAYS – Supervised Match play

(Commencing Friday 27th January)

4.30pm to 5.30pm - All junior members are welcome to participate in this event where we will supervise match play for all ages and levels of ability.

SATURDAYS -  AMERICAN TOURNAMENT with Peter and Roisin Walsh

(Commencing Saturday 28th January)

11.00am to 1.00pm - We hope that all juniors who can play full court using green ball and yellow ball will take part (Players aged 9 to 18 will be graded by age and level in this tournament)

 Green Ball event from 11am to 12 noon.

 Yellow Ball event from 11am to 1pm.

There will be a small charge of €2 for prizes/balls etc.  It’s a great way to practice doubles in a supervised and sociable way.

Other Events

Box League

We also want our juniors playing more singles and hope to set up a Single Box League whereby 4 players will play each other over 1 month – which means 3 matches will be played in a month. The top player in each box moves up for the following month and lowest player moves down.  This will initially be for ages 11 and up but we may have one for ages 9 and up if there is an interest for same.  The singles would help to improve their fitness and overall court movement etc.

Please let us know as soon as possible if your child wishes to participate in this event.

COACHING

All beginners should have some coaching to develop proper technique and so avoid bad habits which are much harder to change later on.  They still need some matchplay to practice what they have learnt during their coaching sessions so they can attend Friday matchplay!!
