Summer League - Ladies Class 7 Team in Semi-Finals

Two men's teams, both at Classes 5 and two ladies teams at Classes 4 and 7 were entered into the Summer League 2010.

Mens Progress

All teams gave a strong performance during a the very exciting group stages with one of the Class 5 teams finishing top of the group stages on 19 points ahead of second place Sutton, who finished on 17 points

They progressed to the playoffs where they played at home to Charleville. Leixlip were defeated 3-2 by Charleville narrowly missing the quarter finals.  

The other Class 5 team finished in 4th place in their group on 13 points.

Both teams played a great competition and are to be commended for their performances throughout.

Ladies Progress

Both ladies teams have also given a strong performance so far during a the very exciting group stages.

The Class 4 team finished 2nd in their group on 18 points behind winners Rathgar, who finished on 21. Leixlip qualified for the playoff stages (last 16) where they played away to Newtownpark. Leixlip were defeated 3-2 by Newtownpark narrowly missing the quarter finals.  

The Class 7 team topped the group on 22 points ahead of second place Monkstown, who finished on 17 points They qualified for the playoff stages (last 16) where they played at home against L’town/B’town. They won 4-1 to earn a place in the Quarter Finals against Rathgar. The QF match, which was played at home, finished 3-2 to Leixlip, earning them a place in the Semi Finals. Leixlip went on to beat Glasnevin away on Tuesday 22nd June 2010 to reach the Final, where after a close fought battle, Leixlip narrowly lost to Glenageary in Clontarf on 26th June 2010 with a score of 3-2 in Glenageary’s favour.

Congratulations to all teams for great performances, in particular the Class 7 team who have gained automatic promotion to Class 6 as a result of their brilliant performances.
