Leixlip Tennis Club is committed to providing a safe environment for users of our facilities. Guidance from the Government on current restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic; the HSE regarding social distancing; and health and safety is to be adhered to at all times by all users of Leixlip Tennis Club. Your health and safety and wellbeing are our key priority and therefore we ask your cooperation in ensuring we all stay safe which is key to maintaining a safe playing environment.
Updated Restrictions (20 September 2021)
Members should note that the following updated restrictions / protocols will be in place until further notice.
Access to all areas of the clubhouse is now permitted. This includes shower/changing rooms and main room - Leixlip Tennis Club fobs have been updated to facilitate clubhouse access.
Face masks should still be worn when indoors unless eating or drinking.
The outdoor toilet facilities will be open. Users are asked to take all precautions, when using the toilet facilities, including sanitising.
Players displaying COVID-19 symptoms should remain away from the club until the symptoms have dissipated or a COVID
test has been carried out.
The following protoicols are in place for coaching.
Coaches should prepare and present a Risk Assessment document and get approval to coach from the Covid 19 Committee.
Coaching sessions should be booked with the
participants contact details recorded.
Coaches should brief their students and/or
their parents of the protocols that should be
followed in advance of the session.

We also remind members to take full precautions, while using the club and this includes remaining socially distant with other players, continuing to sanitise at every opportunity and ensuring that all names of players are recorded on the booking system. The following measures should be adhered to at all times when using the facilities:
Coming to the Courts
All restrictions relating to outdoor play were removed from September 20th.
Courts that are side by side can be fully utilised.
Players should still enter the court one at a time and touch points such as gate handles should be cleaned regularly
Where players are purchasing lights tokens, have exact money in €2 and €1 coinage or notes only
Physical Distancing should be observed throughout the period of play, particularly on
change of ends.
Players should still refrain from handshakes and high fives.
Equipment such as towels, food, and drink should not be exchanged between players.
Players should ideally bring a small bottle of hand sanitizer with them and keep it in their
pocket or bag for use.
Caution is advised for those who intend to engage in high intensity training following a recovery from COVID-19. Individuals should seek medical advice prior to a return to play.
Once play has finished, players should sanitise their hands on the way out using the dispensers at the mainn gate.
The changing rooms and showers are available for use.
If a player or visitor to the club becomes unwell, they should first contact their GP/ HSE and then inform their club.

COVID Sub Committee
Leixlip Tennis Club established a COVID Sub Committee in early 2020, to monitor Government advice and provide ongoing direction for the safe use of the club and the protection of its users.
