The Leixlip Tennis Club AGM took place on Thursday 1 May 2025 at the clubhouse and was our most attended AGM to date, which is a great reflection on level of interest of our members of the management and activities of the club.

A report was provided to the membership by all of the officers, giving a summary of the highlights of the previous year. There was a great level of engagement from the members attending, in relation to the reports and the general day-to-day activities of the club.

Motions

The following Motions, which were presented to the AGM by the outgoing Committee, were passed by unanimous decision.

• Update the text in Article 5 (Membership) as follows:

  Amendment Article 5(g)

  Original Text

  Honorary President – Proposed and appointed at the Annual General Meeting, the position of Honorary President will be for three years. The Honorary President will be a non-paying membership with full access to all Club facilities and events.

  Agreed Revised Text

  Honorary President – Proposed and appointed at the Annual General Meeting, the position of Honorary President will be a non-paying lifetime membership with full access to all Club facilities and events.

  Additional Clause Article 5(e)

  Honorary Membership – Proposed and appointed by the Committee at the Annual General Meeting, the position of Honorary Membership will be awarded to proposed long-standing members of Leixlip Tennis Club, in recognition of their exceptional contribution to the club throughout their membership. The Honorary Membership will be a non-paying lifetime membership with full access to all Club facilities and events.

Article 5(e)

The Committee recomended that six club members, who met the criteria of newly created Article 5(e), should be awarded the Honorary Membership and this was passed by unanimous decision.

Resolution on Rates

A resolution on the membershp rates for the 2025/2026 membership year, which was presented by the outgoing Committee was passed by the meeting. The Committee proposed to retain the 2024/2025 rates for the 2025/2026 membership year.
