Highlight of the Junior Calendar

The 2026 Leixlip Tennis Club Junior Championships proved to be another outstanding success, showcasing a fantastic display of talent, determination, and sportsmanship across the club’s junior section.

This year’s event featured 13 competitions across both boys’ and girls’ categories, from Under 12 to Under 18, highlighting the depth and strength of junior tennis within the club.

Friday’s matches set the tone for the weekend, with players competing strongly for their place on finals day. The standard of tennis was exceptionally high, with a number of matches going right down to the wire, several being decided by thirdset tie-breaks.

Finals day on Saturday delivered more excellent tennis, with high quality matches across all age groups. Every match was played in a competitive yet sporting spirit, They were all a great credit the club.

Coaches

A special word of thanks must go to Liam and Nicki for their tremendous work in organising the event, preparing all the draws, and managing matches so efficiently across both days. Their efforts ensured the championships ran smoothly from start to finish.

Thanks also to Laura and Deirdre, Keith, Des. your contribution helped create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

Parents and Families

Finally, a sincere thank you to the parents and families who turned out in great numbers across both days. Despite blustery and windy conditions, your continued support and encouragement were invaluable. Thankfully, we avoided the rain, allowing all the matches to go ahead uninterrupted.

Overall, the championships were a great success and a testament to the continued growth, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit within Leixlip Tennis Club’s junior section.
